  • FORT JESUS

-The Fort was built in 1593 by the portuguese and later used by arabs as a torture rooms and prison cells where slaves were kept in captivity before bein shipped away.Now a museum  recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

  • LAMU FORT

Location:Lamu Town

-Built on the world heritage site lamu archipelago islands,the fort was built between 1813 and 1821 and showcases exquisite swahili style architecture,houses a library and an environmental museum.

  • OLD TOWN MOMBASA

-The partly excavated ruins of the swahili city of mnarani are high on a buff near the old ferry landing  stage on kilifi creek.The site was occupied on the 14th century to the first half of 17th century,when it was abandoned following sieges by the Galla tribe from Somalia.
