Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, Kenya


Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where your safari adventure begins.
Meet your professional safari guide, who will transfer you to your comfortable overnight accommodation in Nairobi.
Relax and prepare for the journey ahead while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of Kenya’s capital city.
Overnight: Nairobi (Bed & Breakfast).

Day 2: Amboseli National Park Adventure

After an early breakfast, travel to Amboseli National Park, famous for its views of Mount Kilimanjaro, large elephant herds and diverse landscapes.
Explore Amboseli's savannahs, wetlands, and woodlands, on foot and game drives.
Capture iconic photographs of elephants against the majestic snow-capped backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Overnight: Amboseli (Full Board).

Day 3: Lake Naivasha – Great Rift Valley

  • Drive to Lake Naivasha a yellow-barked, fever-tree-lined ancient freshwater lake set against the purple, volcanic complex backdrop of Ol Doinyo Eburru in the Great Rift Valley.

Overnight: Lake Naivasha (Full Board).

African Fish Eagles, Herons, Jacanas, Cormorants, Pelicans, enormous pods of hippos and zebra, buffalo, giraffe, hartebeest and waterbuck.

Day 4:Lake Nakuru National Park – Great Rift Valley

Explore Lake Nakuru, known for its enormous flamingo populations and efforts to protect endangered rhinos.
Morning and afternoon game drives in search of wildlife amidst acacia woodlands and grassy floodplains.
Overnight: Lake Nakuru (Full Board).

Wildlife to spot:

White and black rhinos, lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, greater and lesser flamingos and other waterbirds.

Days 5 and 6: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Journey to Kenya's most iconic safari destination, the Masai Mara.
Morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara's vast savannahs, home to the Big Five and numerous other species.
If travelling between August and September, witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, including dramatic river crossings.
Overnight: Masai Mara (Full Board).

Lion, cheetah, crocodile, elephant, leopard, buffalo, hyena, black-backed and side-striped jackal, giraffe, hippo, Thompson's and Grant's gazelle, waterbuck, warthog, topi, eland, oribi, reedbuck, over 400 bird species and large numbers of wildebeest and zebra.

Day 7: Lake Victoria – Africa's Largest Lake

Cross the Isebania border into Tanzania and visit the shores of Lake Victoria, the source of the longest branch of the Nile River and the White Nile.
Overnight: Lake Victoria (Full Board).

Days 8 and 9: Serengeti National Park

Explore Serengeti National Park, renowned for its stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife and Great Migration, the annual migration of over a million wildebeest and other plains game.
Game drives over vast plains, occasionally interrupted by granite outcrops and scattered acacia woodlands here and there, in search of predators like lions and leopards, as well as massive herds of wildebeest.
Overnight: Central Serengeti (Full Board).

Big cats, hyenas, elephants, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, topi, buffalo, hartebeest and over 500 bird species.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive in one of the most biodiverse areas in Africa.
Explore the crater's montane forests, grasslands, acacia forests, soda lake and swamps which provide refuge for a wide range of birds and animals, including the Big Five and large herds of wildebeest and zebra.
Overnight: Ngorongoro Highlands (Full Board).

Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino and large concentrations of wildebeest and zebra.

 

Day 11: Lake Manyara Community Initiative

Enjoy a walking tour of Mto Wa Mbu village, where you’ll experience local culture and cuisine.
Visit the village market, a banana beer brewery, a school and a church.
Interact with local farmers, artisans and craftsmen before preparing an authentic, home-cooked African meal with locals.
Transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for onward travel.
Includes: Breakfast and lunch.

Optional extension: Zanzibar

Add a Zanzibar beach extension for a relaxing end to your East African adventure.

Scheduled, Small Group Tour
Our Best of East Africa Group Tour is a scheduled, small-group safari, guaranteed to depart with two guests minimum. To guarantee everyone has a window seat, the maximum number per group is seven. Airport transfers are as per the itinerary. Day 1 of the itinerary includes an airport pick-up, and Day 11 an airport drop-off. If you arrive earlier and/or leave later as per the itinerary, extra charges for airport transfers apply.
